Confidential Paper Waste
The Data Protection Act says that you can't put confidential paper waste in your general waste containers, this includes paper waste that has any details of a personal nature to either your business or the people who work there.
Keeping customer and employee information secure isn’t just good business sense – it’s the law and, if you don't comply, you risk serious fines and penalties. This is because you are putting your business and your people at risk of identity theft.

Confidential waste covers an whole ream of documents ranging from credit card statements, invoices and remittance advice, general correspondence, eg letters etc, employee details eg. spoilt wage slips, P45s, P60s or any document that contains address details.
This legislation includes the ultimate destruction of confidential materials, which states that all private information contained in documents must be destroyed in a way that ensures it cannot be recreated. For full compliance, secure disposal offered by your local TRC, is the most cost effective method available today.
You can now take your confidential waste to your local TRC, just use our Confidential Bags and Barcode Pack. These bags are super tough and have a self-sealing security seal to ensure the confidentiality of your waste. When purchasing these bags from TRC they are provided with our unique bar code tracking labels which are to be attached to the confidential bag prior to delivery at your local TRC. Upon delivery our agents will record the bar code number before the bag is deposited in the secure container. All bags are guaranteed to be destroyed within 24 hours of entering the TRC site, after which an electronic Certificate of Destruction document will be issued detailing the bag number, and the date of destruction.
TRC delivers a unique and fully auditable process for confidential waste.
TRC Top Tip 1: Unlike many other confidential shredding companies, we only ever use paper bags (our Confidential Bag and Bar Code Pack), this means we shred not only the contents, but also the bag. Incidents of paper being trapped by static electricity in polypropylene bags which are then sent on to other customers are often reported. Why take risks - TRC it.
We make it our responsibility to ensure that your confidential waste is disposed and destroyed to meet full compliance with the current Data Protection Act.
