Plastics
On average, 12% of the contents of an average businesses waste container will be made up of Plastics waste. TRC accepts a wide range of plastic waste, including soft and hard plastics.

Plastics waste covers a broad range of recyclables, these include plastic bottle (and lids), hard plastics, coat hangers, plastic trays and crates, plastic fixtures, plastic film (of all colours), polystyrene, clean food packaging and vinyl floor covering - this list is not exhaustive!
Plastic waste is both a bulky and lightweight waste stream which often fills up your waste container quite quickly - which means more cost to you.
The average cost of dedicated waste containers for this broad range of plastics vary, for example:
- mixed plastics - £7.00 per week for a 1100 ltr waste container
- polystyrene - is £11.56 per week for a 1100 ltr waste container
- plastic bottles - £6.37 per week for a 660 ltr waste container
- vinyl floor covering - £5.00 per bag
However, the good news is that plastics waste is an highly recyclable waste stream, so by not putting plastics waste into your dedicated, expensive waste containers you can save your money by taking it to your local TRC.
